Bitcoin Risk Observatory is operated by David Elliott trading as Bitcoin Risk Observatory, who is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect account email and account information; subscription, payment-status and billing information; account security and session information; Terms acceptance records; promotional or referral attribution where applicable; marketing preference; and technical information reasonably necessary to operate and secure the service.

Bitcoin Risk Observatory does not store complete payment-card details. Payments are processed by Stripe.

2. Why we use it

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide the service and Pro features, process and manage subscriptions, send essential account, security and billing communications, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain appropriate business and legal records, and send marketing where an appropriate legal basis exists.

Marketing is optional. It is not required to create an account or purchase Pro.

3. Service providers

Stripe processes payments and subscription activity. Resend delivers transactional account emails such as verification and password-reset messages.

4. Retention

Information is retained only as reasonably necessary for account operation, security, accounting and legal obligations. Some records may need to remain after an account or subscription ends.

5. Marketing

If you choose to receive marketing, you may withdraw that preference by contacting support. No automated marketing preference centre or unsubscribe-email system is currently provided.

Marketing opt-out does not affect essential account, security, payment or subscription messages.

6. Your rights

Applicable law may provide rights concerning your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, objection or restriction. Contact us using the details below to make a request.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information. No system can promise absolute security.
